CompComm: Madrid 2011 Plenary suggestion


As per Harry's comments, one suggestion for requesting a Computing related Plenary speaker for one of the two possible slots (as opposed to a keynote)

The following could be considered just to start the discussion off - but perhaps we could ask for a plenary in the style of 

  crystallographic number crunching: where it came from and where 
   it is going to

With the speaker being someone "who was there" but it still current in the field.  

Would George Sheldrick be someone worth recommending in this regard for this type of plenary?
