Re: 2009 Annual Report

Title:
Clare, you are not alone.  In my fairly long experience in running email discussions I find I am doing well if 10% of the members reply.  Sometimes it is none.  But a failure to reply usually means acquiescence, and that is what I usually assume, putting the onus on the non-replier to accept responsibility for any consequences.

I am not sure that I am still a card carrying member of this Commission, but I, too, have no quarrel with the report.

Then let this be my first reply to the list.

I too was grateful to Harry for putting the report together – but thought that, as a relatively new member, perhaps it was time for me to explain why I have been silent so far.

I’ve read each email with interest and appreciation, but haven’t felt able to add anything more than “I agree” or “Sounds good to me” in each case – and was assuming that everyone here was very busy, and that such replies could possibly be seen as spamming people.

With such a low volume list, as a new-comer I’ve been unclear about when to chip in.

Regards to all,

Clare Macrae
