[ddlm-group] CIF API 0.2.0 Released for Beta Testing

Dear CIF Software Community,

As many of you are aware, COMCIFS has for some time been overseeing work on a new version of the CIF format, CIF 2.0, based on Syd Hall and Nick Spadaccini's updates to the parent STAR format. As part of that effort, and to assist developers hesitant to implement their own CIF 2 interfaces, COMCIFS commissioned the development of a standard programming interface and reference implementation for creating, reading, modifying, and writing CIF data in CIF 2.0 format: the CIF API. I am now pleased and excited to announce that the first version of the interface and reference implementation of the CIF API are now available for beta testing!

You can find the full announcement on the CIF API forum on the IUCr's message board, http://forums.iucr.org/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=353.

Best regards,

John Bollinger
