Re: [ddlm-group] Character sets in DDLm attribute dictionary

This proposal concerns just the text in the DDLm _type.contents enumerated values, which currently reads, in part:

loop_
_enumeration_set.state
_enumeration_set.detail
Text 'case-sens strings or lines of STAR characters'
Code 'case-insens contig. string of STAR characters'
Name 'case-insens contig. string of alpha-num chars or underscore'
Tag 'case-insens contig. STAR string with leading underscore'

I am proposing changing 'STAR' to 'CIF2' in all the above cases.  As far as I know the differences between STAR2 and CIF2 characterset are obscure and would not be an issue for any existing files. Not to mention that the above definitions actually say "STAR" not "STAR2".  While we are at it, we should probably drop mention of 'case-insensitivity' and instead talk about 'canonical form'.

The current ddl.dic specifies in several places that characters are drawn from the STAR character set. I suggest that we change this to the CIF2 character set and explicitly reference this characterset somewhere in ddl.dic. Otherwise we are permitting characters in our data values and names that are not expressible in CIF2 files.  Unless I hear objections from this group, I'll make this change.
