IUCr Archive Policy

Dear Mike,

It is a pleasure for the IUCr's Committee on Electronic Publishing etc
to submit the document 'Archive Policy of the IUCr' for consideration
and approval by the IUCr's finance committee. You can find the document
at:

    http://crystsun1.unige.ch/ahdf/archive.ver04.html

Hopefully the document is self-explanatory - it is certainly intended
to be. As there are financial implications to any archive policy of the
IUCr, we think it appropriate to submit to the finance committee rather
than directly to the executive. The editorial office in Chester, in
particular Brian McMahon, has promised to produce some rough estimates
of the costs involved, although this is an exceedingly difficult task in
my own opinion. You should get in direct contact with him on this
subject.

Best wishes,
  Howard
