THIS MESSAGE HAS BEEN SENT TO MULTIPLE LISTS. I APOLOGIZE FOR THE
DUPLICATION.

Based on the article by Barbara Quint in Information Today, "FIZ Karlsruhe
and TIB Hannover to Launch GetInfo Search Engine"

FIZ Karlsruhe and Technicsche Informationsbibliothek (TIB) Hannover plan an
April launch date for their central full-text server for electronic documents
and metadata in science and technology. The GetInfo search engine will be
available free across the web, but there are plans to charge for the full
text. While it will focus first on German-language material, the plan is to
expand to international coverage by the end of 2001.

GetInfo is funded by the German Ministry of Education and Research and is
part of its digital library program.

heavily involved in the European Digital Library projects, including NEDLIB,
the National European Digital Library, a project of many of the EU countries.]
