2 year term (with possible 1 year extension)

Salary: A$72,358 (plus 15.4% superannuation)

The Bragg Institute at the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology
Organisation is the research centre for the construction and use of
neutron-scattering instrumentation at the new OPAL reactor close to
Sydney.

We are seeking a recent PhD graduate in chemistry, biology, materials
science or a related area with a strong innovation focus, good
communication skills and a proven publication record who can work well
within small cross-disciplinary teams and can collaborate strongly with
other research groups. Experience in the application of small-angle
neutron or X-ray scattering methods including data analysis and an
interest in community outreach are essential.

The fellow will join ANSTO's Food Science Project and work in a major
initiative applying a multidisciplinary approach to understand the
structure and dynamics in food-based systems. The current activities of
the group relate to, but are not limited to, proteins and
polysaccharides. The fellow will interact closely with collaborators
both in Australia and internationally and will have the opportunity to
use the state-of-the-art SANS instrument at OPAL, Quokka.

To be eligible for appointment, applicants will require a security and
medical assessment.
