Cateret锚 @ SIRIUS and SAXS1 @ LNLS


Function description:


The scattering group has an immediate permanent position for an outstanding scientist with an X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (XPCS) background. The candidate will be responsible for the XPCS scientific program at the coherent scattering beamline Cateret锚 at SIRIUS.


The Cateret锚 beamline (Coherent and Time-Resolved Experiments) is an undulator beamline, to be constructed within the first phase of the SIRIUS project. The Cateret锚 beamline will specialise in coherent applications, Coherent X-ray Diffractive Imaging (CXDI) and X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy  as well as Time-Resolved Small Angle X-ray Scattering (SAXS).


The candidate will be expected to participate actively in the construction andcommissioning of the Cateret锚 beamline, as well as to assist users at the scattering beamlines.


To qualify, the applicants must hold a PhD or equivalent, and significant experience in X-ray photon correlation spectroscopy and small angle X-ray scattering.


The responsabilities of the successful candidate will include:


路         Participate in the planning, construction and commissioning of the Cateret锚 beamline.
路         Develop his/her own research activities mainly based on XPCS, either independently or in collaboration.
路         Actively communicate with the Brazilian scientific community to promote the XPCS capabilities and new opportunities.
路         Supervise students and post-docs.
路         Take part in the operation of the beamlines (SAXS1 and Cateret锚) with the other members of the team.
Qualifications and experience:


路         PhD in Physics and/or biology or related areas.
路         Experience with XPCS and SAXS.
路         X-ray beamline instrumentation.
路         Fluent English.
