The ACA Small Agle Scattering SIG submitted the following note.
Participation in this meeting is open to anyone in the worldwide SAS
community.

Dear SAS SIG members,

With the new year well under way, it is time for me to make
first contact as your new SAS SIG chair for 2002. I'd like to
begin by welcoming the new executive committee members.
For those who have not gone to the ACA website to find out
the results of the fall election, it is my pleasure to announce
that Jinkui Zhao has been elected Vice-Chair/Chair Elect
2003, while Pete Jemian has been elected
Secretary/Treasurer. Peggy Cebe continues on as member-
at-large. I look forward to working with the other members
of the executive committee, and with all of you this coming
year and hope to see many of you at the meeting in San
Antonio.

On that note, I'd also like to take this opportunity to remind
everyone again that the ACA has extended the deadline for
submission of abstracts without incurring a late fee till Jan.
25. I would encourage anyone who has not done so to
1)strongly consider attending the meeting and
2)also consider submiting an abstract

Besides San Antonio being a wonderful venue, we are
looking forward to an exciting meeting. From the SAS SIG
perspective we are co-sponsoring a session with the
Biological Macromolecules SIG on Protein motions and
dynamics and we have joined with the Materials and
Neutron SIG to put together several sessions on "Impact of
Scattering on nano Science and nano Technology" which to
some extent covers just about anything in SAS, and "From
Structure to Material Science" which covers a lot of what we
do. I believe this partnering will allow us to put on a much
fuller program than we other wise could and lead to some
exciting synergies while perhaps broadening our perspective
a bit.
