A recent Ph.D. in experimental Condensed Matter or Materials Physics--or in Materials Science or Chemical Physics--who has studied dynamical phenomena in soft matter using scattering techniques or nuclear magnetic resonance is sought to share the responsibilities associated with the operation of the NCNR NSE. These responsibilities include helping visiting researchers conduct experiments and reduce data; testing, calibrating, and maintaining the spectrometer; and participating in instrument and equipment development projects, including software development. These duties are intended to occupy no more than two-thirds of the instrument scientist's time, allowing him/her to conduct independent or collaborative research using the NSE and other facilities at the NCNR.
