Niels Bohr Institute International PhD School on 'Geometry and topology in contemporary material science'

The school is aimed at Masters and PhD students from all disciplines with an interest in geometric and mathematical techniques to address shape, space and structure in nature, physical sciences and design. The school will revolve around the following headlines:

  • 2D geometry and topology
  • self-assembly of soft matter into liquid crystals
  • origami / kirigami in material science
  • networks, knots and tangles
  • simulation and properties of surface geometries in 3D space

The school is sponsored by the Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen.  There is no fee for the school, but travel and accommodation has to be covered by the participants home institutions. 

 Attendance will be limited to 24 students to be selected from the applications received.
