Event Name

Understanding Biology Through Structure 2017

Start Date 13th May 2017
End Date 17th May 2017
Description Structural biology is entering an exciting new phase. Over 10,000 new structures are being determined every year. Powerful new cryo-EM and X-ray laser approaches promise to vastly improve the ease of structure determination for large molecules and complexes and to provide a time-resolved view of molecular machines at work. With these tools and biochemical assays, ever more rapid progress is being made in understanding key biological processes and how they can be manipulated. This symposium will bring together students and senior investigators developing new methods for structural analysis, determining new structures, and using structures to understand biology. The symposium will encourage and facilitate discussion and interactions between junior and senior scientists. The symposium will feature about 40 talks and 100 poster presentations.
