author lists

Two questions about representation of author lists:
  1.  Since we are not supposed to assume ordering in CIF's, and
since the order of authors in an author list is sometimes
important, should there not be a token available to specify
the order of authors in an author list?  For example, we
could have _audit_author.ordinal, _citation_author.ordinal,
and _citation_editor.ordinal, each of which would be a
non-mandatory integer unique within the author or editor
list of any data block or citation, establishing the relative
ordering of authors.
  2.  How is the phrase "et al." to be handled in mmCIF.  I
am not recommending that it ever be used, but it does come up
and a standard mmCIF presentation for use in author lists
would be helpful.
