IUCr 1996 17th General Assembly - Any other business

W. L. DUAX commented that the present Congress had overlapped with the Congress of the International Union of Pure and Applied Biology (IUPAB) which had been held in Amsterdam. The President reported that he had been in contact with IUPAB and the periodicity of the IUPAB meetings may be changed to avoid undesirable overlaps of this sort.

There being no further business, and therefore no need for the final session of the General Assembly which had been scheduled for Friday 16 August, the President declared the Seventeenth General Assembly closed at 9.30 p.m.
