High-pressure small-angle neutron scattering studies of glucose isomerase conformation in solution

[SANS Plots for glucose isomerase]
The glucose/xylose isomerase from Streptomyces rubiginosus was studied by means of small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) in the pressure range 0.1–150 MPa. Since this relatively large (172 kDa), almost spherical protein is not sensitive to pressure and temperature changes in a broad range, it was selected as a very good candidate for a secondary standard in SANS experiments. Correction of the intensity I(q) resulting from intermolecular interaction described by the structure factor S(q) is also discussed.
