School in India on powder diffraction

An International School on Powder Diffraction (ISPD'98) held at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Oct. 1998 was sponsored by the IUCr, ICDD, and the Indian National Science Academy through its National Committee on Crystallography. There were 250 participants from all over India and abroad. K. Lal gave the keynote address on materials characterization studies and multicrystal diffractometry.

There were nine technical sessions and Hands-on Computer Session in which faculty members explained program details to the participants. Philips and Brucker exhibited high-resolution instruments and Dr. Faber (ICDD) demonstrated the role of the powder database and ICDD activities. Programs were distributed free of cost to the participants.
