SinCris ChemWeb

home software section
ChemWeb is a free chemistry drawing program for Web publishing. The software saves structures in GIF files that make it easy to communicate chemical information via the World-Wide Web.

ChemWeb files are unique because...

What's so important about editable GIF files?

All ChemWeb files can be opened, altered, and reused. The published files are easily saved to any local hard drive. There is no faster way to send chemical information to your friends, colleagues, or collaborators.

ChemWeb is available on Windows or Macintosh. It is nearly identical to ChemWindow and ChemIntosh except that it cannot be used to paste graphics into other documents or print to paper. Also note that because ChemWeb GIFs contain chemical information, they cannot be read by other GIF editors and GIFs from other programs cannot be edited with ChemWeb.

With ChemWeb, you can:

Many of the add-on modules for ChemWindow and ChemIntosh also work with ChemWeb. These include the C-13 NMR Module, the MS Palette Tool, and the Spell Checker. You could also use SoftShell's Entropy to make a chemical database of ChemWeb structures, glassware, or chemical engineering symbols.

Compatibility with ChemWindow and ChemIntosh

The latest versions of ChemWindow and ChemIntosh can read GIF files, but cannot create them. It should be noted that ChemWeb GIF files are completely platform independent. The GIF files from ChemWeb are transparent for use with Web browser backgrounds and interlaced so you can see the graphic before it has been completely downloaded. ChemWeb files are written in version 89a of the GIF format.

Free Offer

ChemWeb is available free to any user, commercial users included. This does not include manuals or phone support. ChemWeb has built-in helps and you can always access the tutorial information on SoftShell Online. Fax and e-mail questions will be answered as soon as possible.

You may also purchase the ChemWindow And ChemIntosh manual and phone support from SoftShell for $29.00 plus shipping and handling. Refer to the order form for more details. Your legal rights to use this software are explained in the license agreement.
