Malaysian Crystallographic Association meeting 2016

The Malaysian Crystallographic Association (myCA) organised its first meeting since its inauguration in 2014. This was held in Pulau Pinang under the aegis of the 29th annual meeting of the Malaysian Analytical Chemistry Symposium (SKAM29).  Crystallography was discussed over two sessions drawing 12 speakers from six National Universities as well as an Industry representative (Rigaku Americas Corporation).  Topics covered were often in the general area of crystal engineering/supramolecular chemistry and included presentations relating to unexpected crystallisation outcomes, constructing coordination polymers, unusual supramolecular associations and even a presentation entitled “Kryptoracemates”. A good and informative time was had by all with the assembled 30+ crystallographers and interested participants looking forward to another meeting in 2017.
