IUCr XVII - University of Washington Dormitories

New as of July 2, 1996

We are sorry to inform participants that new requests for University of Washington dormitory accommodations cannot be accepted. The number of requests for dormitory housing far exceeded the rooms available. Requests for dorm housing were accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you have not yet submitted a housing request, we encourage you to select a hotel option. Please refer back to the housing page.

If you originally sent your IUCr housing form to the housing bureau and you selected the dorm housing option, your form was forwarded to the University. You should have then received a dormitory housing application from the UW Conference Housing office. If you have already submitted your dorm housing application with payment or credit card information, your confirmation and check-in details will be mailed to you. Please allow two to three weeks for confirmation.

If you are a confirmed recipient of a student travel grant, your dormitory housing reservations have been reserved by the IUCr Secretariat. Travel grant awardees will receive dorm housing information from the IUCr Secretariat, NOT from the University Conference Housing office. Official notification of awards were mailed to successful applicants on May 17, and to unsuccessful applicants on May 20. Travel grant awardees should direct their inquiries to: iucr-inquiries@hwi.buffalo.edu.

Housing applications requesting dorm accommodations received after June 1 could not be accepted by the UW Conference Housing office. Some participants were faxed information about alternate low-cost housing in a special IUCr room block recently reserved at the Seattle Hostel. The number of reservations available to us at the Seattle Hostel is limited. If you have questions about this option, inquiries may be directed to iucr@engr.washington.edu.
