Any new candidates for IUCr elections or requests for changes to the agenda will be posted here. News of any voting tests or elections emails will also be posted here.
August 22 - 84 votes were received from the 91 eligible voters (a 92.3% turnout). Manfred Weiss is elected with 54.8% of voting delegates choosing him. That concludes the voting until 2023. A big "thank you" to all the delegates for taking the time to vote during their weekend.
August 21 - 83 votes were received from the 91 eligible voters (a 91.2% turnout). Angela Altomare is elected with 53.0% of voting delegates choosing her. Dave Billing has been eliminated with the fewest votes in this round. Round 5 has begun with another 12-hour voting window and three candidates remaining for the final place on the EC.
August 21 - 86 votes were received from the 91 eligible voters (a 94.5% turnout). No candidate received votes from more than 50% of delegates who voted. Sylvain Ravy and Krzysztof Wozniak received the joint fewest votes and were eliminated. Round 4 has begun with another 12-hour voting window and two places left to fill.
August 20 - 89 votes were received from the 91 eligible voters (a 97.8% turnout). Thomas Proffen is elected with 51.7% of voting delegates choosing him. Haozhe Liu has been eliminated with the fewest votes in this round and round 3 has begun with another 12-hour voting window.
August 20 - 88 votes were received from the 91 eligible voters (a 96.7% turnout). Santiago Garcia Granda is elected as Vice-President with 71% of the vote. No candidate in the ordinary member election received votes from more than 50% of the delegates, so Pawel Grochulski has been eliminated and round 2 has begun with another 12-hour voting window.
August 19 - uncontested elections declared over and new President and General Secretary and Treasurer confirmed. Calgary confirmed as host city for 2026 Congress. Balloting begun for Vice-President and ordinary members of the Executive Committee. Results of round one due Friday morning (Prague time).
August 19 - deadline has passed for additional nominations for Chairs and members of Commissions. More information on voting will be emailed to delegates and candidates later today and presented at the start of GA3. Questions are welcomed by email and/or during the GA3 session once you have read the email.

August 16 - list of EC nominations for Commissions uploaded to IUCr GA website and posted on Prague GA noticeboard.
August 16 - Video of last night's GA session is available now - find the GA1 session on the GCon system then select the presenter to watch that segment. Filtering on Sunday and Club H might help you to find the GA1 session more quickly.
August 16 - ballot forms sent out for delegates who prefer to vote early in these non-secret ballots. Updated version of GA papers uploaded with a report from the CHP included. Calgary bid document will be available to download from 8pm Prague time. Congratulations again to the IUCr's newest members: UAE and Guatemala. Brian has updated the IUCr membership map.
August 15 - we hope that all delegates will have access to the GCon system to access the GA feeds. If you have time to test that you can log onto: https://iucr.gcon.me/user/live before the meeting, please do. You will have to enter you email address and choose a password the first time you go there. After that, you should be able to see the list of feeds but, unless you are registered for the Congress, you will only be able to access the GA feed at 8pm Prague time. If your email address isn't recognised when you try to access the GCon system before 8pm, please let me know. August 15 - revised version of GA papers with some information about Guatemala added.
August 15 - new version of GA papers available with a few errors corrected and information on the new candidate for Ordinary Member of the Executive Committee.
August 14 - early voting forms sent out to delegates who are unable to attend the GA1 session.
August 14 - addition of Haozhe Liu (China) as new candidate for Ordinary Member of the Executive Committee (nominated by China and supported by Mexico and delegates from Japan). Revised version of General Assembly comments to be provided soon to include information on the new candidate and the correction of some errors in the previous version.
August 13 - notification received that Xi'an, China will not bid for the 2026 Congress.
August 13 - clarification of the timings for the GA sessions on Conftool - the 7.15pm stated start time is to allow delegates who are in Prague to socialise and enjoy some refreshments. The actual GA business will not begin until 8pm local time.
August 12 - additional change in adhering body name notification:
The Adhering Body for the Regional Committee of Crystallographers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam will change to the Regional Committee of Crystallographers from Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam
August 12 - voting test ended via Simply Voting. 94 of 127 delegates voted. One person reported trouble voting but this has since been resolved.
August 11 - notification received that Xi'an, China will bid for the 2026 Congress.
August 11 - voting test begun for all delegates via Simply Voting.
August 9 - addition of Lee Brammer (UK) as new candidate for Ordinary Member of the Executive Committee (nominated by UK, seconded by New Zealand). Revised version of General Assembly comments added to include information on new candidate.
