I can't spell worth beans (funny, I could when I was a kid, but somehow along
the way I lost it) but none of this looked right to me.  Fortunately they
make dictionaries for folks like me, and my dictionary gives supercede only
as a variant of supersede (learn something every day).  So I have changed
supercedes to superseded.
