Professor Dame Goodfellow will discuss the societal benefits for investing in science and higher education. She will outline the case for such investment for an economically and intellectually rich modern society.
Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow has been Vice-Chancellor of the University of Kent since 2007. She is a member of the Prime Minister's Council for Science and Technology since 2011. She is the President of Universities UK. She has also been the Chief Executive of the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), one of main research council that funds biological sciences research in the UK.
