More IUCr Executive Committee election results – Vice-President and first ordinary member elected

At the Prague Congress dinner on 20 August 2021, it was formally announced that Professor Santiago García-Granda (left; University of Oviedo, Spain) has been elected as Vice-President of the IUCr. Santiago has been a member of the IUCr Executive Committee (EC) since 2014. He was President of the European Crystallographic Society from 2009 to 2012, and Chair of the 31st European Crystallographic Meeting, which took place in Oviedo in August 2018.

In the ongoing vote for ordinary members of the EC, Dr Thomas Proffen (Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, TN, USA) has been elected to the first of the three available places. Thomas is one of the three Commissioning Editors for IUCr journals, with a special focus on materials, methods and instrumentation, and a member of the IUCr Commission on Crystallographic Computing.
