Basic sciences at the heart of sustainable development

IUCr President, Hanna Dabkowska, is one of several leaders of international scientific unions and organisations featured on the International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development 2022/2023 (IYBSSD2022) website. The IUCr is a member of the Steering Committee of IYBSSD2022, which aims to convince economic and political leaders, as well as every citizen, of the importance of taking into account and mastering basic sciences to ensure a balanced, sustainable and inclusive development of the planet. In her video interview, Hanna explains how crystallography and the IUCr are helping to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
