Awards and Prizes

The IUCr celebrates outstanding contributions to crystallography and structural science through a series of prizes.

These awards recognise scientific excellence, support early-career researchers and highlight achievements that have shaped the development of the field. Together, they reflect the strength of the international crystallographic community.

Ewald prize

For outstanding contributions to the science of crystallography since 1986

W. H. & W. L. Bragg Prize

For two promising early-career crystallographers, since 2017.

Struchkov Prize

For early-career scientists under 35 years of age, since 1995

Gjønnes Prize

Awarded every three years by the Commission on Electron Crystallography for an outstanding contribution to the field of electron crystallography.

Nobel Laureates Associated with IUCr
