Gjønnes Medal in Electron Crystallography

Congratulations to Doctor Lukas Palatinus (Institute of Physics of the CAS, Prague, Czechia), recipient of the Gjønnes Medal in Electron Crystallography.

After reviewing the nominations and candidates, the selection committee agreed to propose Professor Jian-Min Zuo (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) as the recipient of the 2023 Gjønnes Medal for his outstanding contributions to the development and application of quantitative electron diffraction.

Thank you! Except for a poster prize once, this is my first scientific award, so I am very pleased.

John Steeds, Michiyoshi Tanaka were Joint Awardees of the 2014 Gjønnes Medal for their outstanding contributions to convergent-beam electron diffraction.
