Henk Schenk (1939–2023)

We announce with a heavy heart that former IUCr President Henk Schenk, Professor Emeritus at the University of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, died on 14 September 2023. Professor Schenk served on the IUCr Executive Committee [1993–2005 (President 1999–2002)], as Co-editor of Acta Cryst. A (2008–2021), as Editor of International Tables Volume H: Powder diffraction, and on numerous IUCr Commissions and Committees. He was also Guest Editor of two collections of articles commissioned to celebrate the 50th and 60th anniversaries of Acta Crystallographica and the IUCr.
