The first ever Zürich Crystallography School was intended for masters and PhD students in chemistry and crystallography from all over Europe, particularly those who do not have ready access to crystallography courses at their own institution. Twenty students from Croatia, Finland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey, all of them under 35, met during August  2007 with nine tutors from the different Swiss laboratories of crystallography.
