In Hyderabad
India will host the XXIV Congress & General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography 2017 from 21st to 28th August 2017 with optional tours on the 29th. We extend a warm welcome to all crystallographers across the world for the very first time to our ancient and intriguing nation!
An exciting and informative scientific programme that is both broad and varied, encompassing plenary lectures, keynote lectures, microsymposia, poster presentations, commercial exhibits, special interest group meetings, official meetings of the IUCr and the General Assembly sessions is planned.
The IUCr 2017 will be held in Hyderabad, a modern city of 8 million people that retains its old world charm. Originally the capital of gracious and opulent royalty, the city has now gained international prominence as an important software and pharmaceutical hub. The iconic symbol of the city is the Charminar or four minarets, which draws its inspiration from the tetragonal crystal system. It is the central motif of our logo for IUCr 2017. Hyderabad boasts of a futuristic airport with a wide range of international and domestic connections, through hubs like Singapore, Dubai, Qatar and Abu Dhabi. The Congress venue, Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC), is a state-of-the-art centre, on par with the best Congress destinations around the world and equipped with the best technological, communication, digital and audio-visual tools. The entire crystallography fraternity in India is excited about this event and have pledged their support to make the conference a wonderful success. We are sure that IUCr 2017 at Hyderabad will be an experience to remember for all of us.

The IUCr 2014 Conference will take place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal located in Montréal, Québec, Canada. Located in the heart of Montréal, the Palais des congrès has gained an excellent reputation for its hospitality, superior services and functional flexible facilities. It has obtained the GO Green certification from BOMA-Québec, in recognition of its commitment and efforts in improving environmental practices in the management of buildings and organizations.
