At last, summer is upon us. Over here in Europe, we were recently “treated” to an incredible heat wave (canicule in French), breaking all records for the month of May. But now we return to the usual UK weather: cold, windy, and drizzly. So far, June is not looking much better, but there are ominous warnings for a very hot July. Ho, hum!

The 6th National Crystallography Meeting was held on 17–19 May 2026 in Giresun, Türkiye, under the hosting of Giresun University and in collaboration with the Turkish National  Crystallographic Association. The meeting brought together researchers working in various branches of crystallography, structural science, materials characterization, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Bo Brummerstedt Iversen and Finn Krebs Larsen

Professor, Dr Phil. Svend Erik Rasmussen passed away on the 3rd of April 2026 at the age of 100. He was one of the founding professors of the Department of Chemistry at Aarhus University when it was established in 1960, and he left a profound mark on both Aarhus University and Danish chemistry.
