The Editors of Acta Cryst. B have recently announced that a segment of the journal is now devoted to publications describing studies of crystal growth of small molecules or extended organic, inorganic or hybrid compounds.

At the Prague Congress dinner on 20 August 2021, it was formally announced that Professor Santiago García-Granda (left; University of Oviedo, Spain) has been elected as Vice-President of the IUCr. Santiago has been a member of the IUCr Executive Committee (EC) since 2014.
