Terms of Reference

(Note: the name of the Commission was changed, by consent of the 24th General Assembly of the IUCr in Hyderabad, August 2017, to Commission on Quantum Crystallography) 

An ad interim Commission on Charge, Spin and Momentum Densities was established at the Kyoto General Assembly in 1972 to promote the study and resolution of the factors that limit accuracy in crystallographic studies relating to charge, spin and momentum densities.

The Commission on Charge, Spin and Momentum Densities was established at the Amsterdam General Assembly in 1975.

pdCIFplotter

An initiative of the Commission starting in the 2021-23 'triennium' is the promotion of good practice in the use of the powder CIF (pdCIF) standard, including validation and analysis tools. Outcomes from this initiative are available from this page.

We begin with a powder data visualisation program developed by Matthew Rowles.

How to receive the IUCr Commission on Powder Diffraction Newsletter

The newsletters will only be available online as printed copies of the newsletter will no longer be produced.  The old contact list only included mailing addresses so is moribund.  Notification of new newsletters will be made through mailing lists but anyone needing individual notification should send their email address to:
