7th Vacuum and Surface Sciences Conference of Asia and Australia. VASSCAA-7

The 7th Vacuum and Surface Sciences Conference of Asia and Australia (VASSCAA-7) will be held from October 5th (Sunday) to 9th (Thursday), 2014 at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan.
The VASSCAA series is organized to create a new forum in Asia and Australia to discuss vacuum, surface and related sciences, techniques and applications. The conference is officially endorsed by the International Union for Vacuum Science, Technique and Applications (IUVSTA), and has subsequently been organized once every three years, and later every two years, starting from 1999, and has ever since expanded its activity to encompass numerous eminent speakers worldwide. More than 300 papers are expected to be presented in oral and poster sessions covering frontline research of Vacuum and Applied Surface Sciences. Collected papers through review presented in the conference will be published in the special issue of Applied Surface Science and VACUUM.

Workshop in celebrating the International Year of Crystallography (IYCr2014), aims to provide a forum for exchange of knowledge in order to get the latest developments in structure determination and characterization of nanomaterials. The 2014 Gordon Conference on "Noble Metal Nanoparticles" will strive to provide the same level of cutting-edge science and technology discussion that was the trademark of the 2010 and the 2012 previous two "Noble Metal Nanoparticles" conferences. The Sixteenth International Conference on High Pressure in Semiconductor Physics (HPSP-16) is a satellite of the International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS 2014) to be held in Austin (USA) during the following week.
HPSP is a biennial meeting with a long standing tradition. The first two meetings took place in Poland (1985) and Montpellier (1986) as a Polishâ€"French Meeting on High Pressure Applications in Semiconductors. The success of these early conferences made it clear that the topic area of high-pressure semiconductor physics had wide interest. Consequently, in 1988 the series was convened under its present name and has been organized as a satellite meeting of the traditional International Conference on the Physics of Semiconductors (ICPS).
