The Next Generation of Nanotechnology: Materials, Applications, and Implications

The aim of this cross-disciplinary meeting will be to review and discuss the state-of-the-art in neutron diffraction at the nanoscale and to bring together researchers from a variety of scientific disciplines including soft matter, materials science, and biology. Current and future developments in the field, covering in real space up to a few tens of nm will be presented to promote and adapt the use of neutrons to the needs of the community.

The conference will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics, Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. Â A special session of the conference will also be dedicated to correlation Fourier diffractometry, marking the 25th anniversary of the start of operation of the Fourier diffractometer at the IBR-2 pulsed neutron reactor.

Online registration and abstract submission must be completed before 30th June 2017.

Attendants are encouraged to provide an oral presentation or a poster at the workshop.Â

The main objective of the São Paulo School on Light Neutrons and X-ray (1st SPSLNX) is to introduce young PhD students, postdocs and researchers, from different areas and background, to the applications of light, neutrons and X-rays scattering. In this school, worldwide experts will teach the theoretical aspects and discuss advanced applications using scattering techniques for structural characterization.
