The 19th International Conference on X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (XAFS2026) will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 21 to 26 June 2026. The course aims at providing a comprehensive overview of the whole image 
processing pipeline in Electron Tomography (ET) from the movie alignment 
of the tilt series, 3D reconstruction of the tomogram, particle 
identification, and subtomogram averaging, *all inside Scipion 
integration framework*.

The course is aimed at researchers of all levels wanting to adopt 
electron microscopy as one of the tools at their disposal for 
elucidating biological structures.

The first XTOP conference was held in Marseille in 1992. With an initial focus on X-ray topography andhigh-resolution X-ray diffraction, the conference has always combined aspects of X-ray scattering and X-ray imaging. Over time, other related topics such as X-ray phase-contrast imaging, tomography and microscopy, and various scanning X-ray imaging techniques have been added.

Today, XTOP brings together scientists working on X-ray diffraction, reflection, grazing-incidence scattering, standing-waves, coherent diffraction, and ptychography techniques, as well as X-ray microtomography, microscopy and other imaging techniques based on phase, diffraction, scattering, or spectroscopic contrasts.

Join us for the YRI Hard Matter Symposium - an engaging 2 ½ -day event designed to connect and inspire early-career researchers exploring or utilizing synchrotron- and neutron-based techniques such as diffraction, spectroscopy, and imaging in the field of hard matter. Hosted at LINXS in Lund, this year’s symposium features a rich mix of keynote talks, panel discussions, a poster session, and interactive formats tailored to provide participants with both scientific insights and practical career guidance.

The first day is dedicated to career development, featuring speakers from both academia and industry who will share their professional journeys, offer insights on navigating career transitions, and provide practical strategies for securing research funding. Day 2 focuses on beamline experiments with a special emphasis on multimodal approaches to research questions by exploring the integration of complementary techniques and theoretical methods. Furthermore, practicalities of conducting successful experiments will be addressed by beamline scientists, highlighting common challenges in preparation, beamtime execution, and data analysis. The symposium concludes with a tour of MAX IV in the morning of Day 3.

An Institut Pasteur -Synchroton SOLEIL scientific meeting
Practical trainings will follow the days after (July 1 â€" July 4) for the
PhD candidates of the Marie Curie Doctoral Network on both Soleil and 
Pasteur campuses. These will involve Cryo-confocal 
Stellaris/super-resolution STED, Cryo-Electron Tomography, XRD, and
