According to Information Today:-

"The April 18 announcement that Adobe Systems, Inc. had reached a definitive 
agreement to acquire Macromedia, Inc. stunned the publishing community. This 
deal, which will marry two titans of the publishing software world, must 
still be approved by federal regulators. The all-stock transaction is valued 
at approximately $3.4 billion"
