Polyhedral models

[filling space with 3-fold base symmetry]
Cut-out card or paper models of polyhedra are educational and fun to make. They provide insights into may aspects of solid geometry, and can help to illustrate symmetry properties of solids that are relevant to a full understanding of crystallographic symmetry.

Several resources allowing you to construct polyhedral models are available from the Fortran Friends web site. By courtesy of Fortran Friends, we are also making available from the IUCr site the models and instructions for their use that are of greatest relevance to those interested in crystallography. They may be freely copied for educational purposes.
