Commission on Quantum Crystallography
This Commission of the International Union of Crystallography focuses on experimental and theoretical work on charge spin and momentum densities, and was originally known as the Commission on Charge, Spin and Momentum Densities. The current name was adopted in 2017 at the 24th General Assembly of the IUCr in Hyderabad. The aim is to combine experimental techniques, theory and computations to come to a coherent understanding of electronic charge, spin and momentum densities in atoms, molecules and condensed matter.
The Early Days
Very interesting information on the early days activity of the Commission can be found in the inaugural Newsletter published in Acta Cryst. (1989), A45, FC15-FC17.
- An online conference has been set up to keep the Quantum Crystallography ideas flowing despite the pandemic. Details are available from its virtual venue https://qcrom2020.cs-campus.fr/ 21 August 2020
- We are very saddened to learn of the death of our colleague Slimane Dahoui. An appreciation by El Eulmi Bendeif and Claude Lecomte can be found here. 19 September 2018
