Outreach

During the International Year of Crystallography and the following five years, the IUCr provided over USD 1.6 million in funding to support the crystallographic community

Shaping Science for Tomorrow

[Shaping Science for Tomorrow]

At IUCr, we believe in the power of crystallography/structural science to inspire, educate, and connect. Our outreach initiatives reflect our commitment to fostering curiosity, advancing knowledge, and building a global community united by science. From engaging with schools and universities to supporting groundbreaking research, outreach is at the heart of our mission to make crystallography accessible to all. Together, we illuminate pathways for discovery and innovation, sharing the transformative impact of our field with the world.

International Year of Crystallography 2014

The driving force behind the International Year of Crystallography (IYCr) was to celebrate the significant scientific and societal contributions of crystallography and to raise awareness of its importance in addressing global challenges.

IUCr-IUSC 2015 Grant

This project aimed to further cement the African Crystallographic Association (AfCA), whose Steering Committee was established at the Summit meeting in Bloemfontein in October 2014. The programme was conducted as part of the IUCr Crystallography in Africa initiative and resulted in the expansion of science in Africa, and ultimately, the establishment of AfCA.

IUCr Associates programme

All incomes from the IUCr Associates programme are used to support the ongoing outreach activities. As an IUCr Associate you have access to a range of benefits, such as discounts on books, a discount on the open-access fee for publishing an article in an IUCr Journal and the ability to download free articles from Crystallography Journals Online.
