As I am not actually on the committee, but am just Sol Gruner's stand-in for a 
possible meeting at the ACA, I don't have any background on the articles. 
However, possibly the following comment from an outside viewpoint may be useful.

I don't understand "Living publication" and am not sure it's a useful term. The 
first article talks about two things: (1) using deposited structure factors plus 
coordinates to display maps plus models and (2) inclusion of animations in Acta 
Cryst F papers. While both are useful, I fail to see how they are "living", and 
don't see much connection between (2) and the proposal to store raw diffraction 
data.
