Archive and Use Policy of the IUCr

As promised some time ago, I have just hacked away at the AIP's web site
to produce a draft discussion document on the Archive and Use Policy of
the IUCr.

You can find the document at
    http://crystsun1.unige.ch/ahdf/archive.html

To make sure that there is no confusion as to whether this is already
an official IUCr document or not, the IUCr is identified as ZZZ in this
draft document and the file is tucked away within the file system of my
own web site.

I would much appreciate your thoughts on and consideration of the
content of this text.

I have taken the liberty of ccing this message to the Executive
Secretary as he is close to the Executive Committee and may be in a
position to inform us of likely reaction to such a policy by the EC and
the finance committee.

Best wishes,
  H.
