Re: [Imgcif-l] CBF Format

Dear Justin,

Welcome on board the CBF bandwagon. As others have
told you, you would do best to create full CBF headers,
but starting with a miniCBF and using a variant
on convert_minicbf can be very useful in learning
what you need to do to get there.

Harry Powell has made the current best suggestion
about what to include in a header. You will find his
proposal at:

http://www.medsbio.org/meetings/BSR_2007_imgCIF_Workshop/HP_header.html

Right now, for reading in general, you should
expect to find the detailed size information
in the main header, with an increasing number
of datasets putting the detailed information
in both the main header and the MIME header
because XDS expects it in the MIME header.
As we add full DDLm methods compliance over
the next 2 years, the checking programs
will start to be able to validate each against
the other.

  Have fun.

  Regards,
    Herbert
