The International Conference on Small-Angle Scattering has been held approximately every 3 years since 1965. The next conference in the series (SAS-2009) will be held in Oxford, UK in September 2009. At SAS-2009 delegates will have an opportunity to vote for their preferred locations for the next two SAS Conferences, in 2012 and 2015. Bids to stage these Conferences were solicited through this forum in 2008. In conjunction with the IUCr Commission on Small-Angle Scattering, it is the pleasure of the SAS-2009 Local Organising Committee to now make those bids available to the global SAS Community for discussion and consideration ahead of the vote. In parallel the Commission has also set up an expert Evaluation Board to critically evaluate each bid. There are three bids: Sydney, Australia (for 2012 or possibly 2015); Knoxville, USA (for 2012 or possibly 2015); Berlin, Germany (for 2015) The documents submitted by the bid teams may now be may be downloaded from http://www.sas2009.org/SAS2009/SAS-2012/View.html where is also a feedback form allowing specific questions to be put to the bid teams. (Please note: this form is moderated and is not intended as a voting mechanism). Questions and answers will be posted to the website.
