The University of Tartu invites applications for a postdoctoral position in biophysics and instrument development in neutron scattering. The candidate should have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Materials Sciences, and experience with quasielastic neutron scattering and/or small angle scattering studies of biological systems in order to successfully participate in neutron scattering studies of structure and dynamics of photosynthetic and other biosystems using European user facilities. In addition, the candidate is expected to collaborate with the backscattering team and in particular with Prof. Heloisa N. Bordallo at The Niels Bohr Institute in order to strengthen the link between the Biological Physics Group and the ESS. Experience with instrument development or simulation would be a plus.

The duration of the positions is for two years. The expected start date will be September 1, 2013. Applicants should send their Curriculum Vitae, publication list, description of research interests, and a letter of recommendation to:

Prof. Jörg Pieper

University of Tartu

Institute of Physics

Riia 142

51014 Tartu

Estonia

Or alternatively via email to: pieper@ut.ee<mailto:pieper@ut.ee>

Full consideration will be given to all applications received by July 15, 2013, but the search will continue until a suitable candidate is found.
