Dear colleagues,

The LiX beamline at NSLS-II (Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York) is looking for a postdoc to participate in the development of scanning micro-beam scattering measurements on biological tissues. The goal is to make use of scattering intensity as a contrast mechanism for imaging, at a resolution of down to 1 micron.

Currently the beamline is collaborating with multiple user groups working on imaging plant sections. This research will be expanded to diseased human tissues as well. A successful candidate is expected to participate in measurements at the beamline, and to develop methods and implement software for data analysis. Experience in programming, particularly with python and parallel processing, is required. A background in x-ray scattering or tissue imaging is a plus but not mandatory.

The official posting of this position can be found at the BNL HR website (https://jobs.bnl.gov/), under posting # 1314. Contact Lin Yang (lyang@bnl.gov<mailto:lyang@bnl.gov>) for further information.
