[SA_Scat] EMBO Workshop " Tools for Structural Biology of MembraneProteins@EMBL Hamburg, 7-9th October 2019

Dear all,
It is a pleasure to announce the upcoming EMBO workshop on “Tools for Structural Biology of Membrane Proteins” to be held from Oct 7-9, 2019 at the Centre for Structural Systems Biology (CSSB) on DESY campus in Hamburg, Germany.
We (Franz Hagn, Ayyalusamy Ramamoorthy and myself) have put together a versatile and interesting program covering a broad range of topics ranging from advanced membrane mimetics to biochemical approaches that facilitate structure determination of membrane proteins by EM, SAXS/SANS, X-ray and NMR.
Session topics are:
·Membrane mimetics for biochemistry and biophysics
·Structure, dynamics and folding of MPs in discs
·MP structure and biophysics
·Novel membrane tools for structural biology
·Scattering methods on MPs
·Drug design and function
·Production and reconstitution of MPs
·Structure and of function of MPs

Registration is already open. A large number of abstracts from submissions received before July 15 will be selected for oral presentations. The registration fee for PhD students and postdocs is 200 Euros for conference participation including admission, conference materials, meals, coffee breaks and the conference dinner. The final deadline for registration is August 26. The number of participants is limited to 140 and acceptance is granted on a first come first serve basis.
Hope to see many of you attending the conference!
