Dear colleagues, here are my thoughts on the points raised by Ralf. I will probably not say anything new, but I want to contribute to the statistics of the opinions. Concerning the date of the meeting, I totally agree with Harry. Despite of the early date I think it is preferable to have the meeting before the conference rather than after. The atmosphere will be different, people will be less tired, more keen on listening... After the meeting everybody just wants to sit back and relax... Concerning the name: This is a hard problem to decide, but I personally like the name "Computing workshop" or, maybe to be more specific, "Crystallographic computing workshop". I do not think the word "workshop" discourages young people from coming. Anyway I believe there are mainly two sorts of people coming to such event (but I might be wrong). The first are those who know what event this is (or are even invited to speak), and the second are those who get a recommendation from somebody who knows. Neither of these groups cares about the name too much. Thus, the name is not as important as the people behind it, and the tradition. The name should, however, properly represent the character of the meeting towards the IUCr authorities and towards general public. I think the name Crystallographic computing workshop serves well this purpose. The only real problem I see is the problem of funding. It would be a pity if the meeting lost financial support just because the name changed from a School to a Workshop.
