DRAFT recommendations v1.2

Dear ITOWG colleagues

Attached is a draft of the recommendations we
will be put forward to the EC in Florence.
Notwithstanding that there may be an opportunity
to discuss these directly with the EC, and to
make further suggestions after the IT Open meeting,
I believe our recommendations should be as complete
as we can make them at this stage. Clearly time
is the enemy and I ask you to suggest changes to
this draft as quickly as possible.

Note that some recommendations arise by implication
rather than by direct discussion and I have exerted
my right as the initial drafter to insert these. If
you take umbrage with any of the recommendations
please say so and a consensus view will be sought.

You will note that part 3 of the recommendations is
definitely light on. There was considerable discussion
about presenting symmetry information but it is quite
difficult to frame recommendations on these that will
be important to planning decisions by the EC. The
very specific suggestions will be picked up from
the detailed record of our discussions. Your help
with adding to the 'data specific' recommendations
is very much encouraged but I personally don't think
it is useful to include very specific advice on
reorganising data within or across existing volumes
into recommendations for presenting IT data online.
Please let me know if you don't share that view.

I look forward to your feedback.

Best wishes
Syd
