                  FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT AND CALL FOR PAPERS


     The fifth NOBUGS conference will be held in October, 18-20, 2004 at 
the
     Paul Scherrer Institute, Villigen, Switzerland.

     On behalf of the NOBUGS International Advisory Committe and the
     local organizing committe I would like to invite you to attend
     and contribute to this conference.

     The aim of the NOBUGS series of conferences  is to foster
     collaboration between IT professionals working at X-ray, musr,
     and neutron sources around the world. This collaboration should 
yield
     better data aquisition and data analysis software for the users of
     such  facilities.

     NOBUGS 2004 feautures oral and poster presentations  of the latest
     developments in data aquisition, data analysis, user interface 
design
     and general computer science as is relevant to users and programmers
     working at scientific facilities.

     The conference topics include, but are not limited to:
     - Data Aquisition             - Automatic Beamline Alignment
     - Data Management             - Data Formats
     - Data Analysis               - Data Visualization
     - Instrument Simulation       - Automatisation of Experiments
