Dear fellow scatters,
I have been asked by Sebastian Jaksch and Annika Stellhorn at the ESS to share this event relating to the upcoming SKADI instrument.
The event is the “SKADI Early Science Workshop” on 16th-18th November at the ESS in Lund, Sweden, as a satellite of the “ESS ILL User meeting” (online-participation will as well be possible): https://indico.ess.eu/event/3938/
This workshop aims at:
  *   Introducing SKADI’s early science capabilities & expected performance until 2027  *   Presenting general ESS capabilities, laboratories & equipment, as well as data reduction & analysis workflows for SKADI  *   Discussions about possible early science projects

The workshop will be divided into 3 parts, in which you can choose to either participate partially, or for all 3:
  *   16th November: Soft-Matter SANS  *17th November: Cross Section Topics: Data reduction & analysis, GISANS, SESANS & SEMSANS, and starting with talks on Hard-Matter SANS  *   18th November: Hard-Matter SANS, Wrap-up

One main aspect will be the discussions, organized in breakout groups, to collect ideas, and to brainstorm about first projects for SKADI, and useful sample systems. Topics included will contain, e.g., soft-matter, biological and medical research, magnetic materials and materials for energy storage, as well as experiments on nanomaterials and nanocomposites or colloidal systems.
